In early October 2020 we had a memorial for NEIL at his Santa Monica van parking spot, which runs up against a dirt/grass incline where NEIL was said to have collapsed. Friends and fans showed up and Ramon from STAR LIQUOR provided the beer on the house. Neil's music was played throughout. Sammy played a tribute tune from his trumpet. Eli Elliott read a poem to salute the great Neil Lenart. It was a final send off to the guy we all would miss seeing; his blue van such a staple of the beach lot; Neil's cool, calm, creative, and sometimes wild energy that will never be replicated; it leave's an absence in the ocean air and an emptiness in the soul of the West Coast where so many come to live differently and create freely. Neil was the epitome of both those ideals.
